Born in Hamburg in 1977, Dennis N. Clasen graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2001. Since graduation he has been working internationally in London, Sydney and Milan. On his return to his native Hamburg from Milan in 2005, Clasen eventually set up his own studio ‚Dennis Nino Clasen Design’. He works on a broad range of both contract based and self initiated projects in the field of furniture, lighting, product design and fashion accessories. His work often carries a political content; with the right measure of irony he criticizes the society we live in and translates his commentary into quirky objects for the home. In addition he manufactures and sells a collection of products under his own label of ‚Friesland – exzellente Konsumgüter’. For the fashion jewellery brand ‚Gioia de Seda’ he is responsible as a creative director. Clasen has exhibited in the UK, Italy, France and Germany and his work has been featured extensively.
